FIRST was founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen with just 28 teams and now has over 2,000!  Starting off as just a Competition in the U.S. it has now expanded to many countries including  Australia, Brazil, and Turkey! 

 There are 4 levels of F.I.R.S.T; J.F.L.L. (k-3), F.L.L. (4-8), F.T.C. and F.R.C.(9-12).
